Junior Jamboree on October 19

Hinsdale has been chosen as one of the six sites for the Chicago Junior Jamboree, a free event geared to children 7 to 18 years old.  Similar events are planned at Evanston, Exmoor, Saddle & Cycle, Sunset Ridge, and Winnetka.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 19, from 2 to 4 PM.

The event will consist of basic platform tennis instruction, skills competitions, description of the history of the game, and will serve as an avenue for Chicago area juniors to become the next generation of players.

Favors and refreshments will be included along with raffles for paddles, balls, bags, and other prizes. There is no cost to participants as the event will be sponsored by the A.P.T.A., P.P.T.A., and the C.P.T.C.

KLM and Burns Courts Get a Much-Needed Facelift

Premier Platform Tennis won the bid from the Village of Hinsdale to resurface the courts at Burns Field and KLM. Their work will be completed and ready for play on Monday, September 1st.

The change in court color is helpful in that the blue-purple color has greater contrast with a yellow ball. The surface is also uniformly rough, which helps to prevent slip and fall accidents.
