Congratulations are in Order
- Mary Doten and Susie Keane won the Philly Open in a convincing 6-2, 6-1 win over rivals Kerri Delmonico and Alia Main.
- If you're feeling like you have heard a similar story about Mary, that could be true. She paired with Christine Schwartz to win the Illinois States just a few weeks ago.
Monica Toth wrote with great pride about her teammates, Tiffany Cruikshank and Susan Cook, who won a back draw in the North Shore Women's Platform Tennis Association Tournament on February 21:
"Finals were held at the Tennaqua hut, but matches were played at Bannockburn, Lake Forest, North Shore, Sunset Ridge, and Glen View clubs. Thirty pairs were listed in the championship bracket. Tiffany and Susan lost their first two matches and won their next three to win their bracket (Last Chance).
"Tiffany and Susan are tough competitors. I think there were only two other series 11 players (me and my partner) and the rest were series 1-9. Their team is very proud of them!"
Please share the stories of your tournament victories with paulwiggin@yahoo.com . (Don't be shy). They don't have to be as huge as Mary's successes.
