Women's paddle is stronger than ever these days. 14 teams battled in the first ever fixed partner tourney. All of the semi-finals went to 3 sets, but it was Nancy Ballantine and Jane Veldman who remained undefeated in the final and took home the hardware (or blanket). They beat Cindy Zender and Pam Pierce 7-6, 6-4, 6-3. In another well-fought match for 3rd place, it was Margaret Hawn and Susan McDonnell over Deb Kachidurian and Jackie Nelson 5-7, 6-4, 6-4. Nancy Chapa and Mary Beth Daly won the consolation while Katy Lee and Lesly Keegan were victorious in Friday's round robin. Nice job girls!
