Fundraising Reaches 66%
Donations have been flowing into Bob Kotula's office for about 3 weeks. We're very pleased to announce that 56 (or 66%) of the 85 pledges have already been received by the Village. These 66% of pledges account for 65% of the cash contributions pledged to the project.
The official due date for donation is July 1. The drop dead date to receive all donations is July 20, the day we'll provide an update to the Village Board about the fundraising effort. We'll start the task of following-up with the 29 unpaid pledges after the 1st of July.
There's talk in the Parks Commission about adding a fireplace to the warming hut:
And a public notice went out in the Village newsletter to invite residents to contribute and earn a lifetime membership:

Update about the Building Schedule and Interiors
There has been some action at Village Hall this past week:
- A gameplan for bringing gas service to the paddle facility was developed
- A series of clarifications were made to the architectural plans to satisfy the myriad of code requirements
- The set of permits needed to proceed with the warming hut were issued
During the week of June 28, we're expecting:
- Reilly Green Mountain to begin work on the second court
- All-Bry to finish the basement and crawl space floors for the hut
Interiors:
We've been spending an unusual amount of time at Home Depot lately and gathering photographs when surfing the web. Take a peek at these notes and let me know what questions or comments come to mind.

Save the Dates for the Viking Academy -- September 23 through 25
The National Champs are coming to KLM on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, September 23-25.
Mary Doten will join forces with Chris Gambino and David Ohlmuller in what should be a unique opportunity to improve your game.
The Viking Academy clinic lasts three hours. They traveled the country for the first time last season and fine-tuned programs for all levels of play. This year they're traveling in high style!
At KLM, we'll group players by skill level into a schedule schedule that includes three clinis each day (approximately 9 AM, 1:30 PM, and 6 PM start times).
Donors to the KLM facility at a level of $250 or higher have been awarded one free pass to this clinic. Additional passes can be purchased for $100/person. These clinics will be open to players from other communities. Contact paulwiggin@yahoo.com for details.

From Footings to Foundation Walls
There have been a couple of hang-ups during the first week of construction, but also some progress. The foundation walls were hardening on Thursday evening.
A few of the piers didn't turn out so well, but we're confident that Reilly Green Mountain will get this back on track.
Meanwhile, in another part of town, Andy Stephens new and old MINIs were revving their engines ...

Pouring Concrete at Katherine Legge
Each paddle court requires 21 concrete piers. A series of three piers support an aluminum I-beam, which in turn carries the load of the court deck. The court deck is built of six sections which are 10 feet wide and 30 feet long.
Already in the first days of construction the piers give you a good rough outline for the courts.
The footings for the warming hut are also going in this week.

Construction Update
Our (best case) schedule has work starting on Friday, June 11!
The court manufacturer, Reilly Green Mountain, will spend about a day digging the 84 piers that support the courts and early during the week of June 14 will be pouring concrete. Once they start erecting courts, we should see at least one court completed each week. The general contractor, All-Bry, may begin digging the foundation for the hut during the week of June 14.
