The Viking Academy RV Pulls into Town

Over the course of three long days, Hinsdale paddle picked up skills from 8 pros. Janet Nelson and Bob Considine demonstrate positioning at the net.

The men's exhibition match on Friday night featured Chris Gambino, Scott Mansager, John Milbank, and Dave Ohlmuller. Hundreds of onlookers were dazzled by their warm-weather shots.

The women's exhibition match featured Sally Cottingham, Mary Doten, Susie Keane, and Nancy O'Sullivan. Observers showed their appreciation for tough and inventive play.

When the exhibition matches wound down, there was still plenty more paddle. Hinsdale's top local talent mixed in with the pros and did well at demonstrating that there will be some serious paddle at Katherine Legge this winter.

Most were pretty weary, but still in good cheer, by the end of the evening.

One Paddle Hut -- Move-in Condition

The results of a year's effort is materializing at 60th and County Line Road. Many thanks to Sam Hart for providing the finishes for this fine new facility. National Decorating does first-class work.

Also, congratulations to Charlie Usher for a magnificent job at helping to bring the construction to a successful finish so quickly. The rate of progress has been nothing short of amazing.

Trustees Approve KLM Change Order #2 by 6-0 Vote

Had you listened to any of the 60 minutes of talk at this evening's ACA and Village Board meetings, you would have thought that the topic was a $2 trillion welfare program! Ready for the amounts garnering the great amount of angst? The Village's portion of project will be $15,781 greater than the budget of $347,218. Meanwhile, community donations (originally requested at $50,000) will top $160,000 this week.

In the Home Stretch at KLM

Reilly Green Mountain has started working from the final punch list for the courts. All-Bry has been making steady progress, too. There's more, but here are a sampling of the recently completed tasks:

Tile has been placed in the bathrooms and kitchen.
The kitchen counter and cabinets are in.
4 of 6 doors have been hung (We're still waiting on delivery of the exterior doors).
Stairs and railings have been started.
The primary electrical service has been installed and ComEd will hook it up next week.
The natural gas line is in the ground.

Next week:
The walk will be paved
Painting will begin.
Plumbing and electrical fixtures will be installed.
The decking should be finished.
